The biggest marine sand & gravel wharf in UK, and third largest in Europe, handles around 2 million tonnes of material every year. Thirty conveyor belts keep up to 12,000 tonnes of sand & gravel flowing 24 hours a day. Site staff face a huge challenge keeping conveyor belts operating efficiently and safely. Traditional belt scrapers were failing to cope with such abrasive and varied material conveyed at up to 750t/h. Based on success within the company’s concrete division, it was decided to test Starclean.
